Aug. 31, 2018 6:00 a.m. The new playground area at Puntledge Park has already been put to the test by countless children and families since it was completed in July. Now the City of Courtenay and the Rotary Club of Strathcona Sunrise have officially opened the playground at a ribbon-cutting event on Thursday, Aug. 30.

About Ecole Puntledge Park Opened in 1964 as a four-room school to serve the growing population in North-West Courtenay. The school continued to grow and additions were completed in the following years. The school now houses French Immersion programs for elementary students.

Installation of a new crossing is scheduled for Friday, March 6 starting at 7 a.m., and is anticipated to be completed by around 4 p.m. During installation, the main entrance to Puntledge Park off 1 st Street will be closed.
